Hi! My name is Sarah and I’ve been a guide for 15 years. And I still love it.
I’d love to work with you to work out the things you would enjoy to do most in London, whether it be the highlights or things that are more off the beaten track.
So, what type of tour would you like?
Do you fancy a fun, light but informative highlights of London? I can do that.
Do you like in depth, historical tours? No problem, I have an MA in Art History from UCL and am a freelance lecturer.
Do you have kids? I specialise in family tours and love trying to engage distracted tweenies or super cool teens.
Do you particularly want art galleries and museums? I’m an art specialist as well.
…And if you want a tour I don’t feel I can do justice, I’ll find someone excellent who can - I’ve been training Blue Badge Guides since 2009 so I know a lot of them.
And, what do you want to see?
London highlights? I’d recommend a Royal Westminster morning and a Tower of London and St Paul’s morning. Perhaps including the Churchill War Rooms.
Do you have more time? Then I’d recommend the British Museum of Ancient Civilisations or a Shakespeare’s Bankside walk.
Do you want to get out of central London? Then try the beautiful Maritime Greenwich or the wonderful Hampton Court Palace.
Do you want some art and museums? Definitely the National Gallery of Western European Masterpieces (a gallery of masterpieces) and Tate Modern (the challenge of Modern Art!), and the British Museum again!
Do you want some more quirky things? Try a Hidden London walking tour (one of my favourites) or an off the beaten track gallery like Tate Britain or Leighton House.
