Kim Dewdney
I qualified as Guide of the Year in 2001 and have worked throughout London since that time. Although not born in London, I fell in love with it 20 years ago and think it is the best city in the world. I have worked as a nurse in a busy London teaching hospital, for a medical charity, a trade union and in both the European Parliament and the House of Commons. I have a strong interest, therefore, in medical and political London. I have 2 children - aged 16 and 13 - and know how difficult it can be to sightsee with a young or teenage family. I am keen to use my experience to allow you to enjoy London and I believe that flexibility in programming, entertainment and a practical approach to problem solving are the best ways of achieving this. I am happy to show all of London to visitors and have recently taken the Endorsement course to show visitors the sites to be used for London 2012. If this is your first visit there are obvious attractions such as the Tower of London, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey. If you have been before there may be things you want to catch up on or you may need suggestions. I can use my knowledge of London to tailor-make programmes - either by coach or walking - to ensure that you see things you may otherwise miss and that you enjoy yourself. Such tours may focus on a particular area of London such as St James's or The City, or may take a theme such as War Memorials, or a person such as Dickens or Shakespeare. I am particularly keen to work with those with young families or mixed age ranges. With a bit of work there really can be something for everyone in London.
