Joanne Lee
I am a criminal defence lawyer as well as a Blue Badge Tourist Guide. After 16 years of being called out in the middle of the night to represent people who had been arrested and were detained in custody I decided to change career. I love the fact that in my new career my clients are happy to be with me with me by comparison with your average criminal defence client who is calling you because they want to be somewhere else! Tours with me are about enjoying yourself, learning about whatever we are exploring in an entertaining way and exploring what this great city has to offer. Please see www.discoveringlegallondon.com for my law themed tours for lawyers, law students and anyone with an interest in all things legal. I can focus tours on the political and legal implications of the very significant referendum decision of 2016. Whilst I specialise in legally themed tours I also guide all the major sites, absolutely love the pageantry of Changing of the Guard (and know the best places to see it properly!) and love taking people off the beaten track to explore the lesser known sites of the City. I grew up in Belgium and the United States. After completing a law and politics degree at Canterbury I returned to my London roots in 1986 and have never left. I love showing off this great international city, the Olympic City 2012. As a big sports fan I love showing visitors the incredible legacy of that Games at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. As well as looking back at 2012 we can explore how a "new piece of London" has been created for the future. I’m also a guide at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, home to the world famous Wimbledon “grand slam” tennis tournament. I look forward to showing you around!
