Isabelle Seddon
I hope I will have the opportunity to share my passion and love of London. I have lived in London for many years where I have worked as a counsellor and dramatherapist, working with a wide range of people and ages. I have a doctorate on the history of London's East End and British theatre and I give my tours a sense of performance! What makes London so special for me? I love its beauty, its history and above all its diverse communities and their stories. I specialise in the East End of London (I have published a book on the history of the area) and love to bring its revolutionaries, reformers, gangsters and refugees to life. I lead tours of all the main tourist sites as well as the Jewish East End, Shoreditch and Hoxton, Wapping, Hampstead, Bloomsbury , medieval Clerkenwell, King's Cross and Notting Hill Gate. I love to show the highlight destinations but if there is time, I always slip in somewhere a little off-beat --even the very centre of London has lots of hidden gems. I also have a T-guide qualification for guiding people with intellectual and learning difficulties. "Isabelle can give celebrity information as well as the historical facts. We left booking our next walk" (Debra, Queen's Park, London "Isabelle's tour of Wapping was a complete delight. It introduced us to many fascinating sites. It was packed with interesting information and presented with wit and humour - and beautifully paced so we could soak it all in" (Jodi, Highgate, London)
