Cosetta Zanobetti-Lawlor
Born and brought up in Italy, I studied History of Art at Birkbeck College, London University. I taught English as a foreign language for a few years, and I got a PGCE to teach Modern Foreign Languages in secondary schools. I have been a Blue Badge guide for almost thirty years, and I love my job, as it enables me to share my enthusiasm for this great country with others. I am interested in history, art history, and I love the theatre. I have studied the British Museum in depth and done specialist courses on the National Gallery, Tate Britain and the Victoria and Albert Museum. Out of London I have completed courses for York Minster, Lincoln Cathedral and Canterbury cathedral. Gardens are my passion, and I have done tours of most gardens in England.
Mi chiamo Cosetta Zanobetti e lavoro nel campo del turismo da quasi trent’anni.
Sono nata in Italia dove ho frequentato il Liceo Classico e la Scuola d’Interpreti a Firenze.
Mi sono laureata in Storia dell’Arte all’universita’ di Londra, e ho poi conseguito un’ ulteriore qualifica per insegnare lingue nelle scuole superiori.
Faccio la guida turistica a Londra freelance dal 1987 quando, dopo un duro corso di due anni, ho conseguito la qualifica di guida turistica Blue Badge.
Il distintivo Blue Badge e’ il riconoscimento piu’ prestigioso nel campo del turismo in Gran Bretagna, e mi permette di portare visitatori dove guide non autorizzate non possono andare, incluso l’Abbazia di Westminster, la Torre di Londra, la cattedrale di St Paul, e il Castello di Windsor.
Sono socia dell’ITG (Istituto di guide turistiche), di APTG (Associazione di Guide Turistiche Professionali), e sono assicurata.
Sono specializzata in storia dell’arte, e ho una passione particolare per i giardini.
