Catherine Cooper

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this page. Welcome to London: the world’s greatest playground that I have the pleasure of showing people, just like you, the very best it has to offer.

However much time you have – a half day, full day, or a little longer: we can walk Westminster, Whitehall or the City of London; clamber over the Tower of London, where the famous and infamous steered the course of English history; revere Westminster Abbey or St Paul’s Cathedral, rival Valhalla’s of the nations’ dead; marvel in the majesty of royal palaces, Guard changes, traditions and (of course) tea; admire the art of our National Gallery, where every picture is a winner, or put a face to the faces of our cultural and political identity at the National Portrait Gallery; muse over the exhibits and timeless treasures of the British or Victoria & Albert Museums; see landmarks and highlights by car, coach, or public transport; or, travel along by boat, on the mighty River Thames, that bonds this city together.

Alternatively, right in the heart of this sprawling metropolis we can spend time in the villages, attractions, shops and pubs of Londoners: Marylebone; St John’s Wood; Maida Vale; Little Venice; Regent’s Park & Primrose Hill; Chelsea; Mayfair; Bankside; Soho; Covent Garden; Shoreditch & Spitalfields; and Greenwich. Unique neighbourhoods, where history gives way to modernity.

But if you are looking to stretch your legs beyond the capital – let us go: Hampton Court Palace; Windsor Castle, Eton & Runnymede; Bath; Stonehenge; Salisbury; the Cotswolds; Oxford; Blenheim Palace & Bladon; and Stratford Upon Avon.

Join me for an enlightening and enjoyable day.

My Story: With roots in both South Wales and naval Hampshire, I was born near Windsor Castle, educated on the outskirts of the city of Bath, but have called central London ‘home’ since my teenage years.

And it has been a blast: rejecting drama school in favour of working backstage in London’s West End theatres, whilst studying theatre design at a top London art school – to working in arts journalism, before focusing on organising bespoke event programmes for amazing clients over many years.

Now, as a London Blue Badge Tourist Guide & City of Westminster Guide, I have the dream job of accompanying families, friends, couples and workmates round London, whether they be first timers to the capital, returning travellers, or locals, looking for a helping hand to explore this city, or further afield.

I look forward to hearing from you. Best, Catherine

Our tour guide, Catherine, ABSOLUTELY made this trip PERFECT! We LOVED her! I would go on any trip she was leading.

The trip was excellent, our guide, Catherine was affable, knowledgeable and an absolute delight. The trip was well put together and comfortable.

Our guide, Catherine, was SO great. She was funny, warm, kind, and knowledgeable, and she kept the day entertaining and on time!

Fabulous walk, learnt so many interesting facts that we didn’t know. There is so much to learn about areas you think you know well. Next time I’m in London I’ll be seeing what walking tours Catherine is offering. She delivers many facts in a lively and informative manner. I’ll be back.

Knowledgeable & informative with interesting stories of the area we walked. Catherine was funny, engaging and enthusiastic.

Happy to recommend Catherine as a really great guide. She took us around places in London and was informative without ever being boring. We learned a lot about the local history, which was at times surprising, sometimes a bit saucy, but always sparky.
