Anne Pollak
I'm an American who moved to London "temporarily" for a job almost 20 years ago. I fell in love with the city and chose to raise my family here and make it my home.
What I find so thrilling about London are the many ways in which this one metropolis helped shape our modern world. It's said that there can be more history on a single London street than in some entire cities.
I'd love to show you sites that witnessed the birth of so many of our customs and institutions, places where people like William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, Florence Nightingale and Virginia Woolf lived and worked.
But I also want to tell you stories of modern London and help you see how people live and work here today as the capital continues to evolve.
We can take in some of London's most famous attractions, including Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, the Changing of the Guard, the Tower of London and the Churchill War Rooms.
We can also spend time exploring London on foot, enjoying its varied architecture and its contrast between old and new, perhaps taking a walk across a bridge for glorious views of the skyline and the River Thames. We can discover gems off the beaten path -- a cozy pub, a charming shop, or a beautiful historic church. And maybe take a break in one of London's tranquil garden squares.
I'm happy to guide families around London. As a mother of two teenagers, I understand the challenges of traveling with young adults and small children. I will take the time to learn their interests so we can adapt the tour accordingly and keep them engaged. I would love to bring history to life for them, to spark their curiosity and imaginations.
I look forward to helping design a tour that ensures you make the most of your time here in London.
