My Tours
I work with a luxury car that will seat six people, or on foot and using public transport. I can offer you a standard itinerary, or help you design your own tour. I offer a wide variety of day tours, and am very happy to take you on a longer tour around the UK. Please check my website for more details.
Throughout the year garden tours are a favourite.
I love visiting historic houses with fine art collections; cathedrals, castles and great architecture; hidden corners of Britain with beautiful landscapes, lovely villages, quaint tea shops, and cosy pubs.
I also have a range of walking tours following artists and architects around London, as well as gallery and museum tours.
I am a keen dressmaker, and can offer tours tailored to anyone who wields a needle and thread, from museums with great costume or quilt collections, to specialist shops that will show you how they work, to fabric suppliers or major needlecraft shows across the country.
I also offer family history tours as a driver-guide - time spent working for exhibition designers as a historical researcher has given me background experience of archives and of following leads to trace ancestors.
My Car
I drive a comfortable and spacious touring vehicle, a VW Caravelle that will carry up to six passengers and has plenty of space for luggage. It is fully licensed and insured. See my website for more information.
About Me
I am a ‘Blue Badge’ guide for London and the surrounding area, with many years experience. I have worked as a tour manager throughout the UK, Ireland & some areas of Europe.
I now work mainly as a private guide or driver-guide, with people who are looking for a more personalised travel experience.
I am particularly interested in art, architecture, sculpture & garden design of all periods. My educational background is in the History of Art & Architecture, and in Heritage Interpretation.
