Explore London’s Olympic Park

A series of walking tours has been launched to allow Londoners and tourists from afar to hear about the history of Stratford and how it was transformed to host the world-famous London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.  Those who join one of these Olympic Park walking tours will take in views of the world-class sporting venues which saw the likes of Jessica Ennis-Hill, Usain Bolt, Michael Phelps, Sir Chris Hoy and Sarah Storey win gold.

The Blue Badge Tourist Guides leading these walking tours will weave you through the beautiful parklands, fountains and waterways designed by renowned landscape architects and explore the trail of art sculptures commissioned by local and international artists.  You will see some of the iconic venues such as the London Aquatics Centre, the Copper Box Arena, the Lee Valley Velopark and hear about the work being undertaken on the Stadium before it reopens in 2016.  Plus you will get personal insight and knowledge into London’s Olympic and Paralympic story and they will answer any questions you have about the Park.

These London Olypmpic Park walking tours start from Wednesday.  1 October 2014.  Specifically:

When: Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 11am & 2pm during October.

Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 11am only from 1 November 2014.

Start: at the Information Point on the Park opposite the London Aquatics Centre.

Nearest Station: Stratford (zone 3), follow signs for Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Finish: Timber Lodge cafe, a great place to stop for a drink or a bite to eat while you take in the surroundingsof London’s newest park.

Cost: £10 for adults, £8 for concessions and £5 for children.  Under 12’s go free.
